Local self-government works only when citizens evaluate issues and candidates on substance rather than labels. In recent decades, national party divisions have flowed into local politics, discouraging candidates from supporting worthy legislation simply because of party branding pressures.

PawneeFreePress exists to restore issue-based evaluation, constitutional reasoning, and local accountability. We believe voters are capable of judgment, candidates deserve fair evaluation, and communities thrive when principles matter more than party.
